Abstract
269,509. Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Farley, W. R., and Rodgers, W. H.). April 15, 1926. [Convention date]. Regulating transformers.-Transformers with tap-changing devices are protected by cutting them out of circuit when a condition of unbalance due to internal fault in the transformers arises and selective visual and audible indications are given when the tap-changing process does not proceed correctly. The invention is shown applied to a tap-changing arrangement in which a balance coil 31 is connected through contactors 23, 25, 27, 24 and 26 to the taps on the secondary and its midpoint, is connected to one of the outgoing leads 22. Thus, by sequential operation of the contactors, in effect a sub-division of the taps on the secondary can be obtained.
