Abstract

268,659. Kasanof, M. M. Sept. 28, 1926. Shaping and stretching tubular and made-up goods upon cores. -Tubular goods such as knitted tubular fabrics sewn along the edges temporarily to form tubes are stretched or shrunk upon a, hollow head 16 supported on a, steam pipe 15 and provided with annular series of perforations 18, a head 20, external drain pipe 21 provided with per. forations 23 directed towards the fabric A on the head 16. In use, the head 16 is unscrewed from the standard 15 over which the fabric to be treated is passed. The head is then replaced, and the fabric is drawn over the tapered end 17 of the head and over the length of the head to rollers B. Steam is passed through the standard 15 and the pipe 21. Grooves 19 are formed in the head to prevent, the perforation 18 from being closed by the fabric.
