Milling-machines. - In an engraving-machine for plastic reproductions of the type comprising a tracing-stylus 13 and cutting-tool 11 carried by a pantograph linkage 1 - - 4, a removable guiding-device is provided with engages either the cutter or the stylus and limits the movements of both to vertical planes. The device is shown applied to the machine described in Specification 228,418, [Class 100 (ii), Printing processes &c.], a counterbalanced support 57 for a vertically adjustable table 60 being adjustably clamped on the carrier 19 thereof. The guiding-device is bolted on the table 60 and consists of a screwadjustable slide 66 carrying a lateral guide 64 for a cylindrical shoe through which passes a guiding-pin 63 fixed on top of the cutter bearing, so that the tracer and tool move across the pattern and work respectively in a series of parallel planes. The guiding-device may, alternatively, be arranged on the pattern table 30.
