Abstract
266,781. Preston, A. G., (Administratrix of Preston, J. E.), Brassington, A. E., and Mahony, M. B. Nov. 4, 1925. Fixed-abutment type. - In rotary engines, pumps, &c. of the kind wherein a rotor 5 carries sliding-rocking vanes 6 which contact with a casing 3, the vanes are actuated by a sun-wheel 13 on the rotor shaft which drives through an intermediate wheel 12 a toothed wheel 11 mounted on a spindle 10 carrying an eccentric 9. The vane 6 embraces the eccentric 9 at its inner end. Each vane may be formed in two parts pressed apart by a spring. Elliptical gears or toothed wheels with offset centres may be used to obtain variable velocities of the eccentrics 9.
