Endless-track vehicles. - Comprises a motor vehicle of the kind having endless-tracks and road wheels for alternative use, in which the conversion from one form to the other is effected by power mechanism comprising a friction clutch and a reversing gear. The reversing gear may be constituted by the usual gear-box of the vehicle. The invention is shown applied to vehicles in which the conversion is effected by (1) moving the tracks up and down relatively to the chassis, (2) moving the road wheels up and down relatively to the chassis, and (3) moving the tracks and the road wheels up and down. In the construction shown in Figs. 10 and 11 the track frames C<2> are moved up and down by means of screw shafts C<9> driven from the propeller shaft D<2> through a clutch d, a reversing gear-box E, a transverse shaft C' and shafts c<10>. The propeller shaft D<2> carries a sliding pinion d<10>, Figs. 11 and 13, which can be moved to engage either a pinion d<11> on a shaft D<9> driving the road wheels or a pinion d<12> on a shaft D<12> driving the track wheels C<1> through friction clutches D<6>. The friction clutches are separately disconnected for steering and corresponding brakes d<6x> are applied by means of rods d<8>, d<7> operated simultaneously either by independent hand levers d<7x> or by the steering hand-wheel. The track wheels may be driven through epicyclic clutches controlled by brakes instead of through the friction clutches. Emergency hand gear is provided for use if the power gear breaks down.
