Abstract

264,603. Morton, F. C. Oct. 29, 1925. Screw propellers.-In an airscrew of the kind wherein the hub consists of two half sockets internally serrated to receive the roots of the blades, the blade roots external to the sockets are screwed to take a locking nut which takes up against the machined ends of the sockets. The hub is formed of two parts 1, 2, each having two half sockets 10, 11, which are held together by bolts 9 and also by a central nut 5 which is secured on to the central sleeve 3 of the main part 1. The blades 14 have a shoulder 16, serrations 19 and an external screw .18.. A lock nut 17 on this screw bears against the end of the socket.
