Actuating pumps by hand power; compound piston pumps.-An air pump comprises two or more sets of compound cylinders 1 - - 4, the pistons of which are operated by a pair of levers 7, 8 through coaxial shafts 5, 6 coupled to the pistons. In another form, the shafts are not coaxial and their adjacent ends carry engaging pinions. In another form, the coaxial shafts are connected by a differential gear.
