Running generators in parallel; regulation, automatic.- The regulators of the parent Specification, which are adapted to nullify the wattless equalizing currents between alternators working in parallel, are modified to be effective under dif. ferent power factor conditions. One or both of the compensation devices energized by the currents in an alternator phase or phases is arranged for a variable member of ampere turns which may be adjusted at will according to the power factor of the load. The compensation devices comprise current coils B.C on the regulators; these coils are energized respectively from the phases U, V of the particular alternator. Fig. 1 shows the regulators of each of the alternators I, II and III modified according to different embodiments of the invention. In the first the coil B has adjusting taps; in the second the coil C is shunted by a variable resistance; and in the third the coils B and C are combined and fed from a transformer D having two primaries fed from separate phases, one of these having adjusting taps. The operation of these regulators is explained vectorially in the Specification.
