Abstract
264,395. Anderberg, A., and Anderberg, E. A. July 14, 1926. Two barrels in series; combined fixed and moving cylinder pumps, -The low and high pressure pistons 1, 2 are connected by a sleeve 7 sliding on an internal projection 9 of the differential cylinder. Fluid is drawn in on either side of the piston 1 alternately, and is delivered through conduits to the spaces 5, 6, on either side of the piston 2, from which it passes to a common conduit 20. Three or more stages may be employed. When the apparatus is used as a compressor, the space within the extension 9 may be provided with air cooling devices. When used as a liquid pump, e.g. for passing water from a reservoir to a preheater and thence to a boiler, all the valves may be disposed within a common valve box connected by conduits with the various cylinder spaces.
