Abstract

263,977. Bos, A. Nov. 4, 1925. Fixed bucket conveyers.-The buckets 2 of a dredging-machine are provided with plates or grids 4 which lie in the bottom and are mechanically raised to loosen the sludge so that it may be readily discharged when the buckets are inverted. The plate 4 is connected by a short piece of chain 5 to the bottom of a bucket 2 and by another chain 6 to the outside of the preceding bucket ,the chain 6 being of such length. that while the bucket is rising, the plate lies at the bottom thereof; the tilting of the preceding bucket at the top of its upward travel causes the plate 4 to be drawn up by the chain 6 thus loosening the sludge so that it falls out of the bucket when inverted.
