Abstract

Luggage-carriers. - In carriers for cycles, the stays a are connected to the plate or platform b, without the use of rivets &c., by the engagement of flaps, lugs, &c. c integral with the ends of the stays, with apertures d in the plate, the interengaging parts being shaped to permit of relative movement for attachment and detachment purposes, as indicated on the right-hand side of Fig. 4, whilst affording an interlocking fixture when in the operative position, shown on the left-hand side of Fig. 4 and in Fig, 5. The portion of the plate adjacent to each aperture is recessed as shown to form a seating for the lug. To give additional security, one or more projections e on the stays are adapted to engage corresponding apertures or recesses in the downturned edges of the plate.
