262,841. Scragg & Sons, Ltd., E., and Scragg, S., and New Eccles Rubber Works, Ltd. Aug. 15, 1925. Winding-machines. - Drums for driving the take-up bobbins of winding, twisting, and like machines, especially those for silk or artificial silk, are covered with vulcanized indiarubber, guttapercha, balata, vulcanized fibre, synthetic resin or bitumastic compounds, reinforced, if desired, with canvas or fibre. The material may be applied in strip form, or as a jointless tube or cover, or may be moulded on the wheel and, if desired, vulcanized in place, and may envelop the flanges of the drum when such are used. The whole of the drum or a part 5 thereof may be formed of the material, a boss 10 of metal being provided in the latter case.
