Abstract
260,607. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Strickland, R. F.). Oct. 29, 1925. [Convention date]. Filaments, supports for; screens within bulbs. - In high-power lamp bulbs for projectiion purposes &c. a disc 16 of insulating material is supported by a rod 21 from the stem 22, and the filament 17 is supported by the leads 12, 13. and by anchors 18 secured to the disc 16. This serves as a screen to protect the parts adjacent the stem from currente of hot gas. and is composed of a material that soften at a higher temperature than for example, steatite, pressed alumina or magnesia, pressed or moulded zirconia or silica, or porcelain. The anchor wires and the rod 21 are secured in the disc by cement, which may consist of magnesia, and sodium silicate.
