Abstract
260,240. Katz, P. C., (Administrator of Davol, G. K). Oct. 26, 1925, [Convention date]. Removing pistons from cylinders.-In an internal-combustion engine having four open-ended cylinders arranged with their axes parallel to a central driving shaft, the cylinders are formed with extensions 19 bolted to the main cylinder barrel. By moving a piston completely into the corresponding cylinder and then removing the bolts 20, an extension 19 can be swung out of the crank chamber through a hole 21. The connecting rod 15 can then be allowed to drop down and the piston readily withdrawn. Flywheels.-The flywheel 32, Fig. 9, is formed in two parts bolted together and secured to the rectangular crank web 4.
