Abstract
258,705. Crimmins, J. July 21, 1925. Stream-cutting machines. - A brick cutting table a, having a frame b with cutting wire c, supports by a bracket e a horizontal rod f on which is slidably pivoted a knife g normally held up by a catch j having a cranked portion k connected by a bar m to a movable stop plate o. The bar of clay engaging the stop plate o releases the catch j allowing the knife to fall after which it is forced therethrough by a handle h while travelling with the clay. The severed slab is then pushed forward by the knife into alignment with the cutters and pushed therethrough, the plate o being arrested by fixed stops on the table. The distance between, the bracket e and forward position of the stop plate o, and the position of the fixed stops are such that a complete number of bricks are severed without waste.
