Yarns for elastic fabrics comprises an elastic thread 1 twisted with a non-extensible thread 2 to form a core which is bound by one or more threads 3, 4 of cotton, silk, &c. In wearing the fabric, the elastic threads 5 are put under tension and form the warps combined with fibrous binder threads 6, Fig. 1, and a suitable number of gut threads 7 of cotton, silk or other suitable material.
