Abstract

256,254. Harman, A. T., and Bailey, H. C. July 29, 1925, [Convention date]. Toothed wheels.- One or both of a pair of interengaging toothed wheels is formed of toothed plates A of metal. vulcanite, fibre, &c. separated by layers B, preferably also toothed, of rubber, the whole being compressed by bolts D until the rubber &c. teeth project slightly beyond the profiles of the rigid teeth, so cushioning the drive and preventing backlash. According to the Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), the plates A may be of material known under the registered Trade Mark " Bakelite," and the layers B may be of elastic material other than rubber. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
