Abstract

256,088. Sumner, A. J., and Sumner, C. E. Oct. 26, 1925. Ash-trays.-A smokers' ash-tray adapted to be secured to a vertical support comprises a hollow cylinder 1, cut away at 2 and having a partcylindrical cover 3 rotatable thereon. The cylinder 1 is closed bv end caps 5 carrying spindles 6 upon which the cylinder 1 is rotatable in brackets 7 to discharge the ash, the rotation being effected by a lever 11. The end caps 5 form guides for the rotation of the cover 3. One of the caps 5 is provided with a detent comprising a projection 8 held in engagement with a recess 9 in the adjacent bracket 7 by a spring between the other cap and the bracket adjacent thereto. The cover 3 is provided with a projecting finger-piece 13 and is limited in rotation relative to the cylinder 1 by a stop 12.
