Actuating by air pressure sprints.-A pump for washing motor cars &c. comprises a cylinder 1 connected to one of the engine cylinders by a pipe 12 so that the air pressure in the cylinder when the engine is working may act on the lower face of a piston 2 connected to the pump position 3. The pistons are returned by a spring 7, and during the return stroke air is admitted to the engine cylinder through a non-return valve 15. A buffer spring 9 checks the return of the pistons. A screw 12<a> controls the passage 12.
