Abstract

255,535. Whitwam, L. April 24, 1925. Guarding against unauthorized use. - A gate-guide for the control-lever of variablespeed gearing, comprising a table-like frame 1 gate-slotted on the top and adapted to slide for adjustment on a base 2, is provided with a forked lever 9 which, when folded down, locks the control-lever in neutral position. The lever 9 is normally held vertically by a spring 12. To prevent unauthorized use of a vehicle a catch pin 14 carried by the lever 9 enters a hole in the gate top and snaps into engagement with a concealed spring plunger which is released by a key applied to a lock 17.
