Abstract
Self-propelled luggage comprising a case 2 having means to wirelessly communicate with an external device such as a mobile phone or remote key held by the owner of the luggage, the communication between the luggage and external device enables the luggage to follow the owners movements. The luggage case 2 has intermittent joints 1 allowing the case to change dimensions, and has a plurality of wheels 4 and or tracks 3 to allow the luggage to travel up steps and inclines. The luggage is powered by rechargeable batteries and a plurality of motors (9, fig 4), and may have a thermally insulated compartment. The luggage may be opened via a combination lock, or a finger print scanner located on the case or remotely on a mobile phone. An audio alarm may sound if the luggage exceeds a predetermined distance from the external device. The case 2 may have a handle 6 to allow the luggage to be pulled manually, and may weigh the contents of the luggage. Preferably parts of the outer wall of the case may be exchanged with parts of different materials and colours.
Description
Motorised luggage
This invention related to luggage generally, and more especially to motorised luggage.
Trying to move heavy luggage can be straining, this is a solution to having to carry heavy luggage and have it follow you instead, with added features to help in overcoming difficult terrain and un-level plains.
The invention possesses numerous benefits and advantages over known self-propelled luggage this invention overcomes the problem faced with steps and can be adjusted for dimensions. A motorised case with the ability to change the dimensions of the case and remote navigation.

Figure 1 is a side angled view of the motorised luggage according to one embodiment of the invention, showing the motorised luggage as closed, and standing upright.
Figure 2 is a top side view of the motorised luggage according to one embodiment of the invention, showing the motorised luggage as closed, and standing upright.
Figure 3 is angled view of the bottom part of the motorised luggage according to one embodiment of the invention, showing the motorised luggage as closed and standing upright.
Figure 4 is a cross sectional side view of the motorised luggage as open according to one embodiment of the invention.
Figure 5 is a frontal view of the motorised luggage according to one embodiment of the invention, showing the motorised luggage as closed, and standing upright.
Figure 6 is a top side view of the external communication key for the motorised luggage
Embodiments of the present invention and their technical advantages may be better understood by referring to Figure 1.
The motorised luggage compromise a case 2 with intermittent Joints 1 allowing the case to change dimensions, wheels 4 and tracks 3, a handle as seen in figure 2, 7 to manually drag the motorised luggage, a zipper or buttons generally to open and close the case.
Coiled springs 8 as seen in figure 3, attached to the wheels 4.
The inside of the case can be seen in figure 4, along with the battery and engine compartment 9, the mechanism for the intermittent Joints of the case can be seen at 2, the mechanism is generally two metal or other material flattened rectangular pieces connected together at the middle by a pivot connector, where they allow for the dimensions of the case to change, 10 shows the inside of the case.
The external communication remote key can be seen in figure 6 where it contains a plurality of buttons, the remote key can communicate with the motorised luggage in a variety of ways wirelessly be it with Bluetooth, radio waves, infrared signals or any other method used for transmitting and receiving signals wirelessly. The communication between installed software on a smart phone or through the remote key and the motorised luggage enables the motorised luggage to follow the user's movement and receive other data related to the user's location and obstacles between the user and the motorised luggage.
Features that can be in various embodiments include the following:
The track attached to the motorised luggage enables the motorised luggage to go up steps and inclinations.
An ability to communicate with a smart phone
The inside of the case can be equipped with a temperature insulating compartment for storage.
An ability to emit sounds like an alarm sound if the motorised luggage falls out of the perimeter of a predefined radius.
The outer wall of the casing can be exchanged with parts of different materials and colours.
The ability to add a finger scan reader into the motorised luggage or the external remote key or through a software installed into a computer or phone. A feature compromising a combination key fitted to the motorised luggage. A feature weighing the content of the motorised luggage. A feature to control the velocity of the motorised luggage and to brake the speed.
Claims (13)
1. In a motorised luggage, a floor with varying dimensions walls starting from the proximity of the floor of varying dimensions a roof starting from the border of the walls, a mechanical and or electrical process for changing the dimensions of said motorised luggage, an external device for receiving and transmitting data wirelessly to said motorised luggage, a plurality of wheels and or tracks, a process for opening and closing of said motorised luggage in the form of a zipper but not limited to a zipper, a plurality of motor members, an electrical plug in member to charge electrically a battery, a plurality of battery members,
2. A motorised luggage defined in claim 1 compromising a Bluetooth transmission and receiving ability.
3. A motorised luggage defined in claim 2 compromising a radio transmission and receiving ability.
4. A motorised luggage defined in claim 3 compromising an ability to emit sounds.
5. A motorised luggage defined in claim 4 compromising an ability to connect physically and communicate electronically to similar motorised luggage as said motorised luggage.
6. A motorised luggage defined in claim 5 wherein there is a thermal insulating storage compartment member.
7. A motorised luggage defined in claim 6 compromising an ability to exchange outer casing of said motorised luggage.
8. A motorised luggage defined in claim 7 compromising a combination sequence lock mechanism.
9. A motorised luggage defined in claim 8 compromising an ability to read finger scans.
10. A motorised luggage defined in claim 1 compromising a computer processor.
11. A motorised luggage defined in claim 1 compromising brakes.
12. A motorised luggage defined in claim 1 with the ability to move to a location by receiving wireless signals.
13. A motorised luggage defined in claim 1 with the ability to remove the engine and battery compartment.
