Abstract

253,905. Wood, W. R. June 16, 1925, [Convention date]. Fuel, feeding.-Pulverized fuel is fed into a furnace by two oppositely-rotating plain cylindrical drums 18, 19 spaced sufficiently apart to permit the passage of fuel. The fuel is fed to the drums by a bunker 13, hopper 14 and rotary feeder 16 and enters the furnace after passing between the drums through a nozzle 17. Independent motors are employed for driving the feeder and drums, such motors being preferably of the variable-speed type. Specification 253,903 is referred to.
