Abstract
A magazine structure for a nail gun is provided with a slide cover 60 slidably disposed in a base. A bottom surface 30 of the base is provided with a plurality of first ribs and first guide grooves. The slide cover has a guide portion 63 extending into the muzzle 31 and is provided with a plurality of second ribs 631 and second guide grooves, the second ribs are aligned with the first ribs. When a nail jam occurs in the muzzle, it only needs to push the slide cover away from the muzzle plate by sliding the first slide block 62 and the slide portion along the first and second slide grooves 51, respectively. Meanwhile, the guide portion 63 is also moved away from the muzzle plate 20 along with the slide cover, so that only the first ribs are left in the muzzle, and therefore the nails can be removed easily to clear the nail jam.
Description
MAGAZINE STRUCTURE FOR A NAIL GUN
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a handheld nail gun, and more particularly to a magazine structure for a nail gun.
Description of the Prior Art
Conventional handheld nail guns are normally provided with a magazine for storage of nails and a nail-feeding device for driving nails out of the magazine and into an object. The conventional handheld nail guns mostly suffer from the problems that the nails often get stuck in the magazine or cannot be fed smoothly during nailing operation. Fig. I shows a conventional magazine 10 which is provided with a slide cover 12 slidably disposed on a base 11. At one end of the base Ii is provided a muzzle plate Ill. On the muzzle plate Ill is formed a muzzle 112 which includes a first guide surface 113 and a second guide surface 114, on the first and second guide surfaces 113, 114 are formedapluralityofribs 115, 116 andguide grooves 117, 118.
The ribs 115 on the first guide surface 113 extend into the base 11 to hold a row A of nails A. When a nail jam occurs, the nails Al will be misplaced or dislocated or get stuck in the muzzle 112, so the user has to remove the nails Al from the muzzle 112.
However, the first and second guide surfaces 113, 114 coexist in the muzzle 112, plus the muzzle 112 itself is very small, which makes it very difficult to take out the nails Al.
The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The primary objective of tile present invention is to provide a magazine structure for a nail gun, which is capable of reducing the difficulty hi clearing nail jam.
To achieve the above objective, a magazine structure for a nail gun in accordance with the present invention comprises a base and a slide cover.
The base is used in combination with a nail gun body and includes: a muzzle plate, a bottom surface, and a first lateral surface and a second lateral surface which are located at two opposite ends of the bottom surface.
The muzzle plate is formed with a muzzle which includes a top edge, a bottom edge opposite to the top edge, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge which are arranged opposite to each other and located between the top and bottom edges, at one end of the muzzle plate is provided a nail hitting passage which is connected to the top edge of the muzzle, and at another end of the muzzle plate is provided a nail feeding passage which is connected to the bottom edge of the muzzle, the second lateral edge being straight and flat.
The bottom surface is provided with a plurality of first ribs, and between each two first ribs is defined a first guide groove in communication with the muzzle.
The slide cover is slidably disposed in an area defined by the muzzle plate and the bottom, first lateral and second lateral surfaces of the base and includes a guide portion. The guide portion is capable of extending into the muzzle and provided on a surface thereof with a plurality of second ribs, and between each two second ribs is defined a second guide groove, the second ribs of the slide cover are aligned with die first ribs of the bottom surface, and the second guide grooves of the slide cover are aligned with the first guide grooves of the bottom surface.
When a nail jam occurs in the muzzle, it only needs to push the slide cover away from the muzzle plate by sliding tile first slide block and the slide portion along the first and second slide grooves, respectively. Meanwhile, the guide portion is also moved away from the muzzle plate along with the slide cover, so that only the guide first ribs are left hi the muzzle, and therefore the nails can be removed easily to clear the nail jam.

Referring to Figs. 2-7, a magazine structure for a nail gun in accordance with the present invention comprises: a base 200 and a slide cover 60.
The base 200 is used in combination with a nail gun body X and comprises: a muzzle plate 20, a bottom surface 30, and a first lateral surface 40 and a second lateral surface 50 which are located at two opposite ends of the bottom surface 30.
The muzzle plate 20 is fonned with a square-shaped muzzle 21 which includes a top edge 211, a bottom edge 212 opposite to the top edge 211, a first lateral edge 213 and a second lateral edge 2 14 which are arranged opposite to each other and located between the top and bottom edges 211, 212. At one end of the muzzle plate 20 is provided a nail hitting passage 215 which is connected to the top edge 211 of the muzzle 21, and at another end of the muzzle plate 20 is provided a nail feeding passage 216 which is coirnected to the bottom edge 212 of the muzzle 21. The second lateral edge 214 is straight and flat.
The bottom surface 30 extends from the first lateral edge 213 of the muzzle plate 20 and is formed with a plurality of first ribs 3 1, and between each two first ribs 31 is defined a first guide groove 32 in communication with the muzzle 21.
The first lateral surface 40 extends from the top edge 211 of the muzzle 21 of the muzzle plate 20 and is provided with a first slide groove 41, and the height of the first lateral surface 40 is defined as a first height Hi.
The second lateral surface 50 extends from the bottom edge 2 12 of tile muzzle 21 of the muzzle plate 20 and is provided with a second slide groove 51. The height of the second lateral surface 50 is defined as a second height H2 which is smaller thaii the first height Hi.
The slide cover 60 is slidably disposed hi an area defined by the muzzle plate 20 and the bottom, first lateral and second lateral surfaces 30, 40, 50 of the base 200 and includes a cover portion 61, a guide portion 63, a slide portion 62 for connecting the cover portion 61 and the guide portion 63 together, and a slot 64 between the cover portion 61 and the guide portion 63 for accommodation of a nail-pushing piece B. On the cover portion 61 is formed a first slide block 611 which is configured to fit the first slide groove 41 of the first lateral surface 40 of the base 200. The slide portion 62 protrudes in a direction opposite to the first slide block 611.
The guide portion 63 is provided on a surface thereof opposite the slot 64 with a plurality of second ribs 631, and between each two second ribs 631 is defined a second guide groove 632. The slide cover 60 is slidably disposed in the base 200 in such a manner that the first slide block 611 of the slide cover 60 is engaged in the first slide groove 41, the slide portion 62 is engaged in the second slide groove 51, the guide portion 63 is able to extend into the muzzle 21, the second ribs 631 of the slide cover 60 are aligned with the first ribs 31 of the bottom surface 30, and the second guide grooves 632 of the slide cover 60 are aligned with the first guide grooves 32 of the bottom surface 30.
