Abstract

A transparent, pointed heel 1 for a shoe is filled with a clear synthetic material (for example a synthetic resin) to produce an upper heel body. A 3D ornament 4 (e.g. a flower, a carved or moulded item, gemstones) is displayed within the body and is held in place by a stand 3 fixed within a lower sole of the shoe 2. Alternatively, the heel may comprise a one-piece body made of any number of clear materials with the clarity of glass and through which the ornament may be viewed from any angle. The ornaments may be glued to the stand which itself may be held in a securely fixed vertical position by the sole of the shoe, providing an axis for the ornaments.
