Abstract

250,815. Mason, W. E. Aug. 27, 1925. Handles; billiards, cues for. -A device for adjusting the balance of a golf club, tennis racket, cricket bat, billiard cue or the like comprises a metal ferrule fitting tightly over the end of the shaft and a cap which may be slipped or screwed over the ferrule. As shown, a screw-threaded ferrule a is applied as a tight fit upon the end of the shaft b, and the desired number of metal weights c. wrapped in paper or fabric to minimize rattle, are superposed and are retained in position by screwing-down a metal or rubber cap d provided with an internal spring f. Both cap and ferrule may be plain instead of screw-threaded. Instead of using loose weights c, caps of various weights may be employed.
