Abstract
249,406. McConnell, T. Sept. 9, 1925. Piled and packed materials, treating with fluids; mangling and wringing apparatus.-Yarn, fabric or other material is fed looselv over a roller 26, through an oscillated guide tube 47 and into a dyeing vat 2. A steam pipe 15 is provided in the chamber beneath the perforated false bottom of the vat from which the dye is withdrawn and circulated by a pump 8. The yarn is then fed, still in a loose state, down channels 49 formed by guides 50 on the inclined bottom of the vat, and is then passed over a roller 51, which is rotated at the same speed as the roller 26, to a series of angular rollers 60. Each roller comprises a spider 63 covered with sheets 59 so that during the passage of the yarn superfluous dye is expressed and the yarn is stretched longitudinally. Final delivery takes place between rollers 37, 38.
