Abstract

248,332. Kyber, W. Feb. 25, 1925, [Convention date]. Addition to 242,650. Waste gases, utilizing.-Carbon dioxide or a gas containing it is used in place of air in the process described in the parent Specification in which generator gas and phosphoric acid are obtained by oxidation of the gases produced by treating phosphorites with silicates and carbon at a higher temperature in a shaft furnace. The oxidation is effected at 1000-1300‹ C. in the recuperator or Cowper stove. Suitable gases containing carbon dioxide are flue gases, limekiln gases or the gas obtained by burning the generating gas resulting in the process itself after removal of the phosphorus pentoxide.
