Abstract

A pair of shears includes first and second handles 10, 20, a cutting member 30 and a limit member 40 mounted on the second handle. The first handle has a grip portion 11, a curved jaw 12, a pivot portion 13, a chamber 14 and a pivot hole 141. The second handle has a recessed pivot section 21 connected with the pivot portion of the first handle, a receiving slot 211 connected to the pivot section and a hole 22. The cutting member is pivotally mounted in the chamber and has a first end with a blade 31 that can abut the curved jaw and a second end with a first toothed portion 32 received in the slot of the first handle. The limit member has a first end with a mounting hole 42 connected to the pivot portions and a second end with a second toothed portion 41 meshing with the first toothed portion. Thus, the opening distance between the first and second handles is greater than that between the cutting blade and the curved jaw, so as to provide a large torque to shear a hard object.
