Abstract

Necktie retainers. - The retainer comprises a part adapted to clip over the top edges of the collar tabs and one or more upwardlyturned prongs to engage the back of the tie. One form, made in wire, is shown in Fig. 1, the collar tabs being clipped between the parallel parts c and the main frame a, one part of which is recessed at f to clear the base of the collar stud. Fig. 3 shows a form made in sheet metal, in which the prongs e are carried farther forward than in the form shown in Fig. 1. If desired, the back of the tie may be reinforced with canvas or buckram and the prongs e may engage a wire or slotted metal frame attached to the tie or forming part of the stiffening frame of the tie. The prongs e may be tubular members into which slender spindles carried by the tie may be inserted as a snap fastening.
