Abstract

A ladder foot steady comprises an elongate channel section to receive the feet of a ladder. The steady also comprises hook and loop or velcro straps to tie the channel section to the bottommost rung of the ladder. Rubber mats may be provided on the straps to grip the channel section.

This is a device designed to increase the stability of ladders.
The device consists of an aluminium channel and two Velcro securing straps which pass through rubber strips to increase grip and to prevent the metal channel being abraded. For dimensions and instructions for use please see page 2.

a. ADJUSTABLE FOR WORKING CLOSE TO WALLS ETC FIG 1A CROSS SECTION OF CHANNEL To use the device the feet of the ladder are placed into the channel and are secured firmly to the nearest rung using the straps. This effectively increases the surface area of the base of the ladder.

Claims (2)

  1. Claims.A portable device which can be attached to a ladder to increase its stability.AMENDMENTS TO THE CLAIMS HAVE BEEN FILED AS FOLLOWSCLAIMS1. A device for attachment to a ladder, the device comprising an elongate channel section having a U-section channel profile, at least one fixing strap and at least one rubber mat wherein in use the rubber mat is positioned below the channel section and the fixing straps are adapted to pass through the rubber mat and to secure the channel section to a ladder, and wherein the at least one fixing strap is a Velcro � strap.
