Abstract
246,489. Pallas Apparate Ges. Jan. 22, 1925, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors. -The fuel nozzle extends transversely across the mixing chamber and is provided on opposite sides with fuel orifices discharging substantially at right-angles to the air stream, the nozzle being provided on the air inlet side with means to divert the airstream from the fuel orifices. As shown in Fig. 1, the nozzle a is provided on each side with a fuel orifice c discharging into a recess b cut in the nozzle. In a modification, an additional recess is provided on the air inlet side of each recess b, thus leaving a web or flange adjacent each orifice. In other modifications, a deflector, e.g. as shown at e, Fig. 4, is secured to the nozzle. The nozzle may be situated obliquely in the mixing-chamber, the edges of the recesses b or of the deflector being situated at right-angles to the air stream. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also modifications in which the nozzle projects at right-angles half way across the air stream and is provided with an axial discharge orifice, the top of the nozzle being either cut off obliquely, or being provided with a projection on the air inlet side of the orifice. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
