Colour kinematography.-In the production of three-colour or four-colour kinematograph films or photographs according to the parent Specification, wherein two component thin films, each carrying two colour-record images, are cemented together in registered superimposition to produce a film in three or four colours, double picturewidth thin material is used for both negative and positive images, and the multi-colour positive film is produced by printing two colour-record images side by side simultaneously from a. double-width negative film upon the doublewidth positive film material by a photographic process, finishing this pair of images, printing two more colour-record images in registered superimposition on the first two from a doublewidth negative film or printing clichÚ by any photographic or photo-mechanical process, and finally severing longitudinally the double-width positive film and cementing together in register the two two-colour component films thus produced. The first pair of prints may be silver prints and the second pair may be superimposed after resensitizing with bichromate; or the first pair may be bichromated colloid prints, and the second pair may be superimposed after resensitizing with salts of silver, iron, uranium, etc.; or both pairs of prints may be produced by the same process. The images may be in relief or non-relief. Collotype, hydrotype, pinatype, and dye-printing are mentioned as methods of producing the second pair of images photo-mechanically.
