Abstract

A stroller includes a frame 2 and a top canopy 1 mounted on the frame. The top canopy 1 includes an outer covering 12 pivotally mounted on the frame and an inner covering 11 pivotally mounted on the frame and located in the outer covering 12. Thus, the inner covering and the outer covering of the top canopy are pivoted about the pivot shaft 13 to move relative to the frame 2. In addition, the inner covering and the outer covering of the top canopy may be movable relative to each other to adjust the inclined angle of the top canopy relative to the frame (figure 2) so as to enhance the shading effect of the top canopy.

Description

STROLLER HAVING TOP CANOPY TO PROVIDE SHADING EFFECT
BACKGROUND OF THE iNVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a stroller and, more particularly, to a stroller for carlying a baby.
2. Description of the Related Art
A conventional stroller comprises a frame and a top canopy mounted on the frame foldably. The top canopy includes a cloth enclosure mounted around the periphery of the frame and a steel bracket movably mounted on the frame and secured in the cloth enclosure to move the cloth enclosure relative to the frame. However, the cloth enclosure is easily contaminated and cannot be washed easily, thereby causing inconvenience to the user when the cloth enclosure is dirty. In addition, the cloth enclosure cannot be moved by the steel bracket easily and quickly, so that the top canopy cannot be expanded and folded easily and quickly, thereby causing inconvenience to the user when expanding and folding the top canopy.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a stroller, comprising a frame and a top canopy mounted on the frame foldably and movably. The top canopy includes an outer covering pivotally mounted on the frame and an inner covering pivotally mounted on the frame and located in the outer covering.
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a stroller having a top canopy to provide shading effect.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a stroller, wherein the inner covering and the outer covering of the top canopy are pivoted about the pivot shaft to move relative to the frame respectively so that the top canopy is expanded and folded easily and quickly, thereby facilitating a user expanding and folding the top canopy.
A further objective of the present invention is to provide a stroller, wherein the inner covering and the outer covering of the top canopy are movable relative to each other to adjust the inclined angle of the top canopy relative to the frame so as to enhance the shading effect of the top canopy.
A further objective of the present invention is to provide a stroller, wherein the top canopy consists of the inner covering and the outer covering only so that the top canopy has a simplified construction, thereby decreasing the costs of fabrication.
A further objective of the present invention is to provide a stroller, wherein the inner covering and the outer covering of the top canopy are movable relative to the frame freely so that the top canopy is operated easily and conveniently, thereby facilitating the user operating the top canopy.
Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S) Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a stroller in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a schematic operational view of the stroller as shown in Fig. 1.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Referring to the drawings and initially to Fig. 1, a stroller in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a frame 2, and a top canopy 1 mounted on the frame 2 foldably and movably.
The top canopy 1 includes an outer covering 12 pivotally mounted on the frame 2, and an inner covering 11 pivotally mounted on the frame 2 and located in the outer covering 12. The inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of.the top canopy 1 are pivotally mounted on the frame 2 by a pivot shaft 13 so that the inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 are pivoted about the pivot shaft 13 to move relative to the frame 2 respectively.
The inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 overlap each other and are movable relative to each other. The inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 are located above the frame 2 to cover the frame 2.
The inner covering 11 of the top canopy 1 is a substantially arc-shaped shell and has a substantially inverted U-shaped cross-sectional profile. The inner covering 11 of the top canopy 1 is located between the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 and the frame 2 and is movable relative to the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 and the frame 2 to extend into the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1.
The outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 is a substantially arc-shaped shell and has a substantially inverted U-shaped cross-sectional profile. The outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 is located above the inner covering 11 of the top canopy 1 to surround a periphery of the inner covering 11 ofthe top canopy 1.
In operation, again referring to Fig. 1, the inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 are movable relative to the frame 2 respectively to a position where the inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 are separated from and juxtaposed to each other so as to cover a top portion 20 of the frame 2 completely. Thus, the top canopy I is expanded fully so as to provide a shading effect to the baby placed in the stroller.
As shown in Fig. 2, when the user wishes to fold the top canopy 1, the inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 are movable relative to the frame 2 respectively to a position where the inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 are spaced from the top portion 20 of the frame 2 so as to expose the top portion 20 of the frame 2.
Thus, the inner covering 11 of the top canopy 1 is located in the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 so as to fold the top canopy 1 so that the top canopy 1 is located at a rear side of the frame 2 when not in use.
Accordingly, the inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 are pivoted about the pivot shaft 13 to move relative to the frame 2 respectively so that the top canopy 1 is expanded and folded easily and quickly, thereby facilitating a user expanding and folding the top canopy 1. In addition, the inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 are movable relative to each other to adjust the inclined angle of the top canopy 1 relative to the frame 2 so as to enhance the shading effect of the top canopy 1.
Further, the top canopy 1 consists of the inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 only so that the top canopy 1 has a simplified construction, thereby decreasing the costs of fabrication. Further, the inner covering 11 and the outer covering 12 of the top canopy 1 are movable relative to the frame 2 freely so that the. top canopy 1 is operated easily and conveniently, thereby facilitating the user operating the top canopy 1.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
