Abstract
246,050. Soc. Anon. des Hauts- Fourneaux et Fonderies de Pont-a-Mousson. June 29,1925, [Convention date]. Jointing tubes to flat headers. -In an economizer wherein the headers 1, 2 are connected by tubes 3 having tapered ends 5 providing shoulders 6, the wedging-means at each end of all or some of the tubes consists of two semi-circular straps 7, 7<a> which are pressed upon the shoulder 6 by screws &c. 8, screwed in the header and extending through open slots 10 provided in said straps. The straps can thus be forced out of engagement with the shoulder in order to facilitate the replacement of worn-out tubes, without unscrewing the screws. The screws are protected by asbestos washers 9.
