Abstract

A Shopping bag with a shopping, carrier or like bag holder comprises a shopping bag that can carry items of shopping 2, 15 and which further comprises a segregated storage pocket, pouch or like part 6 within the main body of the bag within which further shopping, carrier or like bags may be stored when they are not in use, access 4 to the segregated storage pocket, pouch or like part being from the outside of the shopping, carrier or like bag. An opening 10 of a variable size is provided on the outside of the shopping bag. The segregated storage pocket, pouch or like part may have an opening 4, which may be elasticized, and which may be partially or totally closed once the further shopping, carrier or like bags have been inserted.

Description

Shopping bag with Carrier bag holder and dispenser.
This invention relates to a shopping bag with a bag holder and dispenser for carrier bags or reusable bags. There is an increasing awareness that people should reduce the number of carrier bags they use.
A way to do this is to reuse carrier bags or use reusable bags Carrier bags and some reusable bags have a tendency to expand when "scrunched" up. This means that if a number of bags are scrunched up and put into another bag they will expand and become bulkier than necessary. When carrier bags or certain reusable bags (for example string, cotton or plastic bags) are together in one bag there is also a tendency for several bags to come out when one bag is pulled Out.
These issues can make it more time consuming and bulky to carry your own bags with you to use than to use new ones supplied by shops.
To overcome these issues, the present invention proposes a Shopping bag with a carrier bag holder and dispenser (SCBHD) which keeps carrier bags or reusable bags compact and segregated within a shopping bag with a means of dispensing them conveniently The SCBHD will have a compartment within it which can hold bags, like carrier bags, to be held within it.
The compartment within the SCBHD will prevent the bags it holds from excessively expanding The compartment within the SCBHD has a means of inserting bags into it with a hole opening at the top of the compartment in the shopping bag.
The top hole opening to the compartment within the SCBHD in which the bags are inserted has a means of partially of fully closing the opening to prevent the bags from coming out of the compartment.
The compartment within the SCBHD bag has a means of removing the bags it holds through a expanding and retracting hole opening on the outside of the shopping bag.
Preferably, the top opening to the compartment within the SCBHD would be an elastic opening to provide the means for the hole to expand when pressure is applied and retract when the pressure is removed, so that bags can be pushed in.
Preferably, the opening on the outside of the SCBHD would be elasticated to provide the means for the hole to expand when pressure is applied and retract when the pressure is removed, so that bags can be pulled Out as required Preferably the SCBHD would be a fabric shopping bag with handles for carrying.
Preferably, the SCBHD would be a shopping bag with a compartment on the inside at one of the narrow ends Preferably, the compartment within the SCBHD would have an elasticated opening near the opening of the bag Preferably, the SCBHD would have an elasticated opening on the outside of the bag near the base of the bag allowing all the bags held within the compartment to be removed from this opening.
Preferably. the SCBHD can be made in a range of sizes to hold a ranging number of bags to suit different users needs.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 -shows the SCBHD from the front side perspective in an upright position.
Figure 2 -shows the SCBHD from the back side perspective in an upright position.
Figure 3 -shows the SCBHD as a right side perspective view from the top.
Figure 4 -shows the SCBHD as a left side perspective view from the top Figure 5 -shows the SCBHD from the top.
Figure 6 -shows the SCBHD as a perspective view from the bottom. L.
Referring to the figures, a Shopping bag with a carrier bag holder and dispenser (SCBHD) 1 comprises of a bag with handles 2, an opening at the top 14 and a compartment 6 for holding carrier bags or reusable bags Hidden details are shown in broken lines.
Referring to figures 1, 2, 4 and 5 the compartment 6 has a opening 4 for inserting bags into the compartment for storage. Opening 4 is able to expand when pressure is applied and retract when the pressure is removed preferably through the use of elastic sewn within the fabric 11.
Referring to figures 1, 3 and 6 the compartment 6 has an opening 10 for removing bags stored in the compartment on the outside of the SCBHD. Opening 10 is able to expand when pressure is applied and retract when the pressure is removed preferably through the use of elastic sewn within the fabric 5 Referring to figure 1, 7, 8 and 9 are the inside seams of the bag Referring to figure land 5 the inside base of the SCBHD is indicated with 12.
Referring to figure land 5 the space within SCBHD is indicated with 15.
Referring to figure land 5 the bottom of the SCBHD is indicated with 13.
In use, carrier bags or reusable bags (such as cotton, plastic or string bags) can be pushed into the opening 4 at the top of the compartment 6.
Many bags can be pushed into the compartment and stored compactly as the compartment with its partially closed opening preventing the bags from excessively expanding.
The openings 11 and 5 on the compartment are kept partially closed as they only expand when pressure is applied to the opening and retract when pressure is removed The carrier bags or reusable bags can be removed as required from the outside of the SCBHD through the opening on the outside of the bag 10. The bags can be removed from the opening 10 as the pressure of pulling the bag expands 5 the opening. The opening retracts 5 when the pressure is removed preventing the bags contained within the compartment from falling out.
The carrier bags or reusable bags are kept conveniently stored compactly within the compartment of the SCBHD leaving space available 15 for holding shopping or other items.
The carrier bags or reusable bags are kept conveniently stored compactly within the compartment of the SCBHD so they are always easily accessible from the opening from the outside 10
