Abstract
A mobile phone having a dedicated Personal Emergency Button (1) built into its design. The Personal Emergency Button (1) would be built into the design of a mobile phone and would not protrude but be embedded, which is a measure to avoid the Personal Emergency Button being pressed accidentally or unintentionally. A shutter or a door would conceal the Personal Emergency Button. The shutter or door would either slide up or down or be hinged to enable the shutter or door to be opened to reveal and gain access to the Personal Emergency Button.

Background
In this age of mobile phone technology, the cell phone already has an array of facilities. It is seen as an essential personal tool for all and an ever-prevalent commodity. It is the very vehicle to bolt on more technology and utilities that will facilitate a more efficient way of life to everyone who owns a mobile phone. It is more than probable that everyone globally will have a mobile phone, which can be utilised for the common good to introduce and facilitate a human resource.
A human resource facility can be utilised with a mobile phone that has a dedicated Personal Emergency Button to provide and facilitate a service in the event of an individual's personal emergency.
Personal emergency can affect everyone throughout their lives, whether you are elderly, infirm, people of disability or just in need in the event of an emergency.
An individual would need to operate the Personal Emergency button on the mobile phone in the event of personal emergency, which would subsequently, initiate preset text alerts, sent from the mobile phone to predetermined mobile numbers of loved ones, friends and family or wardens and guardians of an individual.
The emergency services, hospitals, government institutions etc globally, require personal information about individuals who are involved in accidents, fall ill and/or found in situations where they are not able to communicate personal details about themselves readily. The details that could be provided could be a matter of life or death, or crucial and efficient in affirming identity.
Statement of invention
A mobile phone specially designed that incorporates a Personal Emergency button would be very useful to the elderly and the infirm who live alone. This facility on a personal mobile phone would enable individuals to call for assistance in an emergency.
A mobile phone would have a new dedicated Personal Emergency Button built into its design. The Personal Emergency Button would be built into the design of a mobile phone and would not protrude but be embedded, which is a measure to avoid the Personal Emergency Button being pressed accidentally or unintentionally. A shutter or a door would conceal the Personal Emergency Button. The shutter or door would either slide up or down or be hinged to enable the shutter or door to be opened to reveal and gain access to the Personal Emergency Button.
To reiterate, an individual would need to operate the Personal Emergency button on the phone in the event of personal emergency, which would subsequently, initiate preset text alerts, sent from the phone to predetermined mobile numbers of loved ones, friends and family or wardens and guardians that have agreed a duty of care to that individual. Receivers of such text alerts could then either attempt to reply to confirm an emergency and / or take emergency action to come to the individual's aid.
When the Personal Emergency button is pressed, not only would the mobile phone send out preset text alerts from an individual's mobile phone but it could also send a preset identification code to a database. The Database holds the profile and personal details of individuals, which can be accessed by relevant, trusted personnel in the event of a particular individual's personal emergency. This information that builds the profile of an individual would be stored on the database that resides on the server of a remote computer. The server would automatically respond by asking for a Personal Identification Number, which can be either the individual's PIN or one given by an authorised individual, which is recognised by the server. An individual's profile would then be sent by the server and rendered and displayed on the screen of the phone. The personal details would help emergency services andlor government services to profile an individual to help and identify that individual in the event of personal emergency. An example of the personal profile could be: o Name o Address o Nationality o Date of Birth o Next of Kin o Passport Number o National Insurance Number o NUS Number o Medical Insurance Policy Number o Blood Group ci Dental Records ci Disability/Disease ci Reliant upon Medication (If so, what medication?) ci Allergies (e.g. to Penicillin) ci Organ Donor (If so, what are the exclusions, if any?) ci Religion Advantages An advantage of the service provided by the use of the Personal Emergency button is that it also provides local, immediate, emergency assistance to individuals who, do have loved ones, friends and family but they live too far away. Subsequently, text alerts sent by the use of the dedicated Personal Emergency button to wardens and/or guardians that have agreed to provide a duty of care to an individual in event of personal emergency provides added peace of mind for all who are concerned for the safety and care of an individual in particular.
The Personal Emergency button would use a code to connect and communicate directly to a database, which provides a service tailoring an up to date personal profile of an individual at their bequest as a precautionary measure to prevent confusion or ignorance about that individual in the event of personal emergency and provide personnel with the required and up-to-date information about an individual in their care. Ultimately, confidentiality would need to be honoured and strictly adhered to by professionals and the details will in no way, be intrusive regarding the privacy of individuals but used to care for an individual.

For the benefit of showing how the button is concealed, the option of a sliding shutter is used in the following drawings.
Figure 1 on page 6 shows the front view of a mobile phone with the shutter 1 closed concealing the Personal Emergency button.
Figure 2 on page 7 shows the front view of a mobile phone with the shutter 1 open to reveal the Personal Emergency button 2.
Claims (4)
- CLAIMS1. A dedicated Personal Emergency button that is built into the design of a mobile phone is a button that when pressed by a user, and only that button of that mobile phone, initiates the mobile phone to send preset text alerts or codes to predetermined end users.
- 2. A dedicated Personal Emergency button that is built into the design of a mobile phone is a button that when pressed by a user, and only that button of that mobile phone, initiates the mobile phone to send preset text alerts to predetermined end users to alert them of that particular user's personal emergency request.
- 3. A dedicated Personal Emergency button that is built into the design of a mobile phone that when pressed by a user, and only that button of that mobile phone, initiates the mobile phone to send a code that is preset on the phone to initiate the access of the personal profile of an individual from a database that resides on the server of a remote computer.
- 4. A dedicated Personal Emergency button that is built into the design of a mobile phone that when pressed by a user, and only that button of that mobile phone, will not protrude but will be embedded and will be accessible by sliding up or down, a shutter or lifting a hinged door that would conceal the Personal Emergency Button.
