Abstract

The invention relates to an auxiliary device for a toilet seat and comprises a base 10 on top of the toilet seat (1 figure 5), a cushion 20 which covers the base and two hand supports 30 secured on either side of the base so that the free ends of the supports are coupled to the rear periphery of the cushion. The device further comprises two cylinders 41 mounted between the base and the cushion and are extendable so that the cushion is raised and lowered in a controlled manner when a person sits or starts to get up from the device. The base has a through hole 11 vertically formed at the central portion thereof which communicates with a central opening of the toilet seat. The front end of the cushion may axially connect with the base by a hinges 22. In a later embodiment the cylinders are replaced by springs (43 figure 7).

Description

AUXILIARY DESCENDING DEVICE FOR A TOILET SEAT

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an auxiliary descending device for a toilet seat that may ease the action resulting from user's downward movement to enhance comfortness.

Description of the Prior Arts

A toilet is generally fire formed and made of ceramics, so its height and shape is stationary that the user has to bend his waist and knees while in use, causing uncomfortness, especially for people with illness, such as spondylitis, hypertension, and apoplexy, etc,.

To improved above-mentioned problem, the inventor of the present invention has developed an auxiliary structure for a toilet seat as disclosed in TW255700, US7,073,2l0, and GBO41 3669.3 which comprises a base formed in a hollow shape therein and including a through hole passing therethrough. Around the rim of the through hole of the base is provided an annular portion for corresponding to a central bore of the toilet seat. The base includes a fixing structure disposed around the outer rim of the annular portion so as to match with the annular portion to be clamped onto the toilet seat. The base further includes supports mounted on two sides of the top end thereof for user's holding, thereby having comfortness.

However, such a prior art still has some disadvantages, for example, generating an extreme reaction to joints and rachis while user squatly sits on the toilet seat. Additionally, while his hands supports on the fixed supports, still feeling uncomfortable because of action.

The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide an auxiliary descending device for a toilet seat that may ease the action resulting from user's downward movement to enhance comfortness.

In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided an auxiliary descending device for a toilet seat comprising a base disposed on the top of a toilet seat and including a cushion for covering the base. The base also includes a through hole vertically formed at the central portion thereof for communicating with a central opening of the toilet seat so that the front end of the cushion may axially connect with the base by way of a coupling structure. Two supports for user's holding by hands are secured on two sides of the base respectively, and the free ends thereof are coupled onto the rear periphery of the cushion, between the base and the cushion are mounted suffering elements so as to have expandable positioning between the rear ends of the cushion and the base and to control the supports to swing upwardly and then to be positioned, thereby having comfortness while in use.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

As shown in FIGS. 1-7, an auxiliary descending device for a toilet seat in accordance with the present invention comprises a base 10 disposed on the top of a toilet seat 1 and molded in a hollow shape therein by a plastic blowing method for providing comfortness. The base 10 includes a through hole 11 vertically formed at the central portion thereof for communicating with a central opening of the toilet seat I and having an annular portion 12 arranged around the periphery of the bottom thereof for matching with the rim of the central opening of the toilet seat I, thereby obtaining a limiting purpose. The base 10 also includes a semicircular receiving cavity 13 formed at the front periphery on each of two sides thereof, and includes a recess 14 arranged at the rear periphery on each of two sides thereof. Furthermore, between the receiving cavity 13 and the recess 14 of the top surface of the base lOis mounted a lengthwise groove 15.

A fixing structure matching with the annular portion 12 of the base 10 is provided to clamp the base 10 onto the toilet seat 1.

A cushion 20 is covered the top surface of the base 10 and includes a bore 21 for communicating with the through hole 11 of the base 10, and includes a coupling structure formed of hinges 22 and fixed at the front periphery thereof so as to be axially connected onto the front end of the base 10, and includes tabs 23, attached proximate to the hinges 22 respectively and extending downwardly therefrom.

Two bow-shaped supports 30 for user's holding by hands are secured on two sides of the base 10 respectively, and one end of each of the supports 30 is fitted in the receiving cavity 13, yet another end thereof is affixed a pivotal holder 31 coupled to the bottom of the rear periphery of the cushion 20, such that the two supports 30 may cooperate with the cushion 20 to engage with or disengage from the top surface of the base 10.

Two suffering elements are respectively comprised of a cylinder 41, and the cylinder 41 is placed in the groove 15 and includes a movable piston rod 411 extending toward the tab 23, between the free ends of the tab 23 and the piston rod 411 is axially disposed a connecting rod 42, hence while the cylinder 41 releases pressure in a normal status, the piston rod 411 extends to urge the cushion 20 through the connecting rod 42, having an expandable positioning between the rear ends of the cushion 20 and the base 10, and enabling to control the support 30 to swing upwardly and then to be positioned. As illustrated in FIG. 4, as the user sits on the cushion 20, the bottom of the cushion 20 may totally contact with the top surface of the base 10 so that another end of the support 30 and the pivotal holder 31 may be stored in the recess 14 together.

Referring further to FIGS. 5 and 6, as the user is desired to sit on the cushion 20, he has to make his hips face the top surface of the front end of the cushion 20, and then to hold the supports 30 by hands. Thereafter, he moves his hips downward to contact with the cushion 20, such that the cushion 20 may activate the cylinders 41 by way of the connecting rods 42, generating a moderate damping effect so that the cushion 20 may provide a reaction to support user's downward movement, deconcentrating the force of the joints and rachis. In the meantime, the rear end of the cushion 20 may activate the supports 30 to swing downward by using the receiving cavities 13, thus decreasing the forces of user's hands. It is to be noted that the closer predetermined position he sits, the more reaction from the cylinder 41 he has to bear by his hands and hips. In other words, the more damping is, the more comfortness is while the user sits on the cushion 20.

When the user intends to stand up from the toilet seat, the suffering elements may pushes the cushion 20 to return back to its initial position as shown in FIG 1 and may gently pushes his hips, thereby saving his force.

With reference to FIG 7, an auxiliary descending device for a toilet seat in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention further comprises springs 43 attached between the cushion 20 and the base 10 individually so as to form another suffering elements, wherein each of the springs 43 is affixed to one end of the support 30 so as to control the rear ends of the cushion 20 and the base 10 to expand for being positioned, and to control the support 30 to move upward for being positioned.

The invention is not limited to the above embodiment but various modifications thereof may be made. It will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes in form and detail may made without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.

Claims

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS: 1. An auxiliary descending device for a toilet seat comprising a base disposed on the top of a toilet seat; a cushion covered onto said base; a through hole vertically formed at the central portion of said base for communicating with a central opening of said toilet seat so that the front end of said cushion may axially connect with said base by way of a coupling structure; two supports for user's holding by hands secured on two sides of said base respectively; characterized in the free ends thereof are coupled onto the rear periphery of said cushion, between said base and said cushion are mounted suffering elements so as to have expandable positioning between the rear ends of said cushion and said base and to control said supports to swing upwardly and then to be positioned, thereby having comfortness while in use.

The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim I, characterized in one end of each of said supports is axially disposed at the front periphery of each of two sides of said base, yet another end thereof is coupled at the rear periphery of said cushion, such that said suffering elements may control said supports to swing upwardly by way of said cushion and then to be positioned, thereby easing the action resulting from user's downward movement.

The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 2, characterized in said base also includes a receiving cavity formed at the front periphery on each of two sides thereof, and includes a recess arranged at the rear periphery on each of two sides thereof; each of said supports is constructed in the shape of a bow, and one end of each of said supports is fitted in said receiving cavity, yet another end thereof is affixed a pivotal holder coupled to the bottom of the rear periphery of said cushion, such that as user sits on said cushion, the bottom of said cushion may totally contact with the top surface of said base so that another end of said support and said pivotal holder may be stored in said recess together.
4. The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 2, characterized in said suffering elements are respectively comprised of a cylinder.

The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 4, characterized in a cylinder is placed in said base and includes a movable piston rod for axially connecting with a connecting rod, another end of which is axially coupled with said cushion, hence while said cylinder releases pressure in a normal status, said piston rod extends to urge said cushion through said connecting rod, having an expandable positioning between the rear ends of said cushion and said base, and enabling to control said support to swing upwardly and then to be positioned.

The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 5, characterized in on the top surface of said base is mounted a lengthwise groove; at predetermined positions on the bottom of said cushion proximate to said coupling structure are provided with tabs extending downwardly; said cylinder is placed in said groove and said movable piston rod extends toward said tab so that between the free ends of said tab and said piston rod is axially disposed said connecting rod.
7. The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 2, characterized in between said cushion and said base are attached springs so as to form another suffering elements.
8. The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 6, characterized in each of said springs is affixed to one end of said support.

The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 1, characterized in said base is molded in a hollow shape therein and said through hole thereof has an annular portion arranged around the periphery of the bottom of said through hole for matching with the rim of the central opening of said toilet seat, and a fixing structure matching with said annular portion of said base is provided to clamp said base onto said toilet seat.

The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 2, characterized in said base is molded in a hollow shape therein and said through hole thereof has an annular portion arranged around the periphery of the bottom of said through hole for matching with the rim of the central opening of said toilet seat, and a fixing structure matching with said annular portion of said base is provided to clamp said base onto said toilet seat.

An auxiliary descending device for a toilet seat comprising a base disposed on the top of a toilet seat; a cushion covered onto said base; a through hole vertically formed at the central portion of said base for communicating with a central opening of said toilet seat so that the front end of said cushion, in use, axially connects with said base by way of a coupling structure; two supports for user's holding by hands secured on two sides of said base respectively; characterized in the free ends thereof are coupled onto the rear periphery of said cushion, between said base and said cushion are mounted expandable positioning elements so as to have expandable positioning between the rear ends of said cushion and said base and to control said supports to swing upwardly and then to be positioned, thereby having comfort while in use.

The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 2, characterized in said base also includes a receiving cavity formed at the front periphery on each of two sides thereof, and includes a recess arranged at the rear periphery on each of two sides thereof; each of said supports is constructed in the shape of a bow, and one end of each of said supports is fitted in said receiving cavity, yet another end thereof is affixed a pivotal holder coupled to the bottom of the rear periphery of said cushion, such that as user sits on said cushion, the bottom of said cushion may totally contact with the top surface of said base so that another end of said support and said pivotal holder may be stored in said recess together.

4. The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 2, characterized in said expandable positioning elements are respectively comprised of a cylinder.

The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 5, characterized in on the top surface of said base is mounted a lengthwise groove; at predetermined positions on the bottom of said cushion proximate to said coupling structure are provided with tabs extending downwardly; said cylinder is placed in said groove and said movable piston rod extends toward said tab so that between the free ends of said tab and said piston rod is axially disposed said connecting rod.

7. The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 2, characterized in between said cushion and said base are attached springs so as to form another expandable positioning elements.

8. The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 6, characterized in each of said springs is affixed to one end of said support.

The auxiliary descending device for the toilet seat as claimed in claim 1, characterized in said base is molded in a hollow shape therein and said through hole thereof has an annular portion arranged around the periphery of the bottom of said through hole for matching with the rim of the central opening of said toilet seat, and a fixing structure matching with said annular portion of said base * :::: is provided to clamp said base onto said toilet seat.
