Abstract
A wrap for knees or ankles comprise means to attach the wrap and pockets for holding ice packs or panels. The pockets have an opening 5 into which the ice packs are inserted. The wraps may be held in place by means of zips 8 and buckles 7 with elastic means 6 to provide added grip. The wrap for an ankle may also comprise a sole piece which allows a user to walk.
Description
TITLE: ANKLE AND KNEE ICE SUPPORT.
BACKGROUND: This product relates to an ice support kit worn around the knee and ankle which aids in the recuperation from bone sprains within the ankle and knee region and also other bone injuries suffered which causes pain. Therefore the general treatment prescribed by doctors or physicians for those who suffer from bone injuries within these regions which is "Rest, ice, compression and elevation (RICE)" My invention is solely focused on the ice section which the remedy being used at the moment is a ice pack which doesn't cover appropriately the injured area which might be a pain around the ankle or anywhere else from back to front, and the ice pack will be unable to cover some of the affected region due to the shape of the ice cubes and the ice pack, which was created to be held against only one section which will disrupt there daily activity and not lead to a proper recuperation, and it also drips of water and this in effect causes people to use ice just for a short period of time because they want to get back to their daily activity hereby creating the risk for a further injury within the same region because of the lack of proper recuperation and for those that use it has recommended it takes longer to heal because of they tend to remove and replace it constantly to carry Out their daily routine.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
The injuries which this product has been designed for are from bone sprains within the ankle and knee region and also other bone injuries suffered within these regions such as follows; Ankle Fracture, Ankle Impingement Syndrome, Ankle Sprain, Calcaneofibular Ligament Injury, Peroneal Tendon Syndromes, Talofibular Ligament Injury, Ankle instability, Osteochondritis dissecans, Referred pain from midfoot and forefoot, Subtalar joint sprain or instability, Talar fracture, Tumors, Calcaneus Bone Injuries, and other unlisted injuries or pains that affect the bones and cause pains. This product is part of a certified recommended rehabilitation program by doctors who also recommend other treatment measures but my product is solely focused on one "ice or cold therapy" of the recommended physical therapy side of recuperation which is "Rest, ice, compression and elevation (RICE)". Most problems associated with ice packs is that it drips water, affects the movement of the person, and also quite difficult to get the ice pack to surround the whole knee or ankle region due to the cubes and the shape of the ice pack. However this invention is created in the shape of the knee and ankle with a sole, which is insulated to store ice and also create the recommended level of cold required to help with the healing process of the bone injuries without dripping water or affecting the movement of the person hereby creating a more comfortable state for the person injured without having to stay in one position or holding the ice packs to the area affected.
This invention also gives the opportunity to work and also recuperate at the same time.
ADVANTAGES: 1) This invention is created in the shape of a knee and ankle which can be wrapped around the latter and former by pmducing the same effect of an ice pack but better by allowing for a better movement of the person.
2) It is also better because it doesn't drip of water by allowing the person to move around and even allow the person to sleep or relax anywhere with it.
3) It also allows the person injured to move their leg in whatever position they want with this product still producing the same effect of the ice.
4) The one around the ankle region can be worn around like a shoe and also wear the same outfit they prefer without fear of getting wet.
S 5) It is more effective because it allows the person to wrap it around the ankle or knee for a longer period hereby decreasing the time limit for healing.
INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawing: I) Unit I shows the front side of the sealed liquid panel for the knee 2) Unit 2 shows the space made to adjust well with the patella bone.
3) Unit 3 shows the liquid panel for the back of the knee joint 4) Unit 4 shows the panel holder which the ice panel is inserted into the knee ice grip 5) Unit 5 shows the opening through which the ice panel is inserted 6) Unit 6 shows the elastic band which helps to give added grip when wrapped around the knee 7) Unit 7 shows the buckle used to tighten the grip of the knee ice panel when inserted into the knee ice grip in other to give maximum effect 8) Unit 8 shows the zipper used to seal up the two sides of the ice panel when inserted into the knee ice grip.
9) Unit 9 shows what it looks like when the ice grip has been wrapped around the knee and zipped up.
10) Unit 10 shows when the buckle has been tied around the knee ice grip 11) Unit 11 shows the full looking knee ice grip 12) Unit 12 shows the back of the ankle liquid sealed ice panel 13) Unit 13 shows the front of the ankle liquid sealed ice panel 14) Unit 14 shows the opened zippers of the ankle ice grip which come in the shape of a boot.
15) Unit 15 shows the openings of the ankle ice grip which through there the front and back ice sealed liquid panels are inserted 16) Unit 16 shows when the ankle ice grip is unbuckled 17) Unit 17 shows the sole of the ankle ice grip.
18) Unit 18 shows when the ankle ice grip in a form when the panel has been inserted into the openings for holding the sealed ice panel and when the ankle ice pack is worn around the ankle all dipped up.
19) Unit 19 shows the leg inserted into the ankle ice pack 20) Unit 20 shows the buckled ankle ice pack.
1) 1 claim an ankle wrap which is an item that can be stored in a frozen condition to create a cold freezing effect that can be wrapped around the knee to produce ice cold effect on the knee which is a remedy for bone strains or pains or any defect around this region.
