Abstract

A child monitoring system comprising a mat with an electrically powered pressure sensitive border 1. When a child attempts to leave the mat an alarm is triggered by sending a signal to a receiver 3 which may be fixed to the belt of the parent or guardian using a clip 7. The alarm may be set to ring or vibrate or both using a setting switch 4. The system may be powered by battery 2 or mains power.

<p>Discription</p>
<p>BABY SAFETY ZONE</p>
<p>This invention relates to a safe area for a perant or gardian to place a baby.</p>
<p>Most perants place their baby on a foam matt on the living room floor where they can watch them.</p>
<p>It does'nt take much for a distraction to divert the perants attention,it could be the door bell,phone or a noise outside.</p>
<p>All it takes is a few seconds when your back is turned for somthing bad to happen.</p>
<p>To overcome this the present invention will give the perant/gardian extra time to intervene and potentially prevent a disaster.</p>
<p>The SAFETY ZONE is a pressure sensative mall used as a border surrounding the baby.</p>
<p>If the baby crawls over the mall and out of the safe area you would be alerted and able to intervene.</p>
<p>An example of the invention will be discribed with the aid of accompanying drawings.</p>
<p>Discription A flat pressure sensitive matt border (1) is powered by a battery pack (2) or electricity.</p>
<p>The mall contains a transmitter that sends a signal to a receiver (3) that can be set to vibrate,ring or bothe using a switch that is recessed (4) to prevent accidental changing of settings.</p>
<p>The receiver has an on/off switch (5) that is also recessed to prevent accidental switching off.</p>
<p>There is a light (6) that indicates when the battery needs changing and a clip on the back (7) so you can clip it to your belt or pocket.</p>

  1. <p>CLAIMS</p>
    <p>I.A pressure sensitive flexable matt border that could opperate using battery power or electricity and sends a signal to an alarm on your person that can vibrate,ring or bothe when the border is crossed.</p>
    <p>2.A pressure sensitive matt border according to claim I that could be powered by battery or electricity making it portable.</p>
    <p>3.An alarm according to claim I that can be set to ring,vibrate or bothe and is powered by battery.</p>
    <p>It has a clip on the back so it can be fixed to a belt or pocket.</p>
