Abstract
A heating/air conditioning (AC) system activated with a timing device fitted within a vehicle powered by, for example, a battery. This will be activated in the vehicle without the engine or electronics of the car being switched on. It will direct air either towards windows, legs, upper body or both. The system will automatically stop operation after a specific period of time. Activation of the system may also be through mobile phone, land line or key fob.
Description

Advance temperature control

Description

I. Background

The invention relates to controlling the temperature in a vehicle (car, lorry, truck, bus, coach and van) in advance of the driver arriving at their vehicle and without the engine or electronics of the car being switched on.

2. Explaining the problem Currently on cold days when one gets into a vehicle the temperature of the vehicle is such that it is uncomfortably cold as well as the vehicle windows often being frosted. Alternatively, on hot days the temperature is uncomfortably warm or hot. It takes time for current vehicle heating and cooling systems to warm up or cool down and hence affect the temperature quickly enough.

3. What the invention does with key features 3. 1 For new vehicles: The objective of this invention is to fit a timing device to the existing heating and air conditioning (AC) system in the vehicle. This will be activated without switching on the electronics of the car or engine. This will be undertaken through a separate energy supply which is likely to be battery operated.

The timing device will be set when the driver leaves the vehicle and with regard to when he/she next expects to return to the vehicle. This will be set so that it allows sufficient time for the desired temperature to be reached. For example, a driver leaves his car at night knowing that he intends to return to it in the morning. He as such sets the timer 15 minutes before he intends to arrive at the vehicle and selects the desired temperature. On arrival he then switches the system off and reverts back to the heating/AC system of the vehicle.

This will save considerable time when trying to defrost windows as well as adding to the comfort of the driving experience.

The timed heater/AC system will automatically stop operation after a specific period of lime. It will have an on/off switch.

Like existing car heating/AC systems the heat/cool air could be directed towards windows, legs, upper body or both.

Although a timer device may be the most effective way in which to activate the heating/AC system, activation may also be undertaken through calling the device either through a mobile phone or land line as well as activation by key fob. This will assist in ensuring the vehicle is more aligned with the intention of the driver re returning to his vehicle.

3.2 For existing vehicles: This will be the same as 3.1 above but the heating/AC device will sit as a stand alone product within the vehicle.
