Abstract

243,393. Dubilier Condenser Co. (1925), Ltd., (Assignees of Pfiffner, H. E.). Nov. 24, 1924, [Convention date). Coating non-metallic surfaces with metals.-In a method of coating the surfaces of insulating- bands &c., particularly those used in making electric condensers, with metal by precipitation from a chemical solution, the bands &c. are passed alternately through a bath containing a metallic salt solution and a bath containing a reducing agent. To produce a metallic coating on both sides of the band &c. i, it is passed through a bath r containing the reducing agent and then through a metallic salt bath a to produce a coating on one side and through other baths a, r to produce the coating on the other side. To produce a coating on one side only of a band, it is passed through one series of baths, dipping into them on the undersides of the rollers as shown. The bands are driven by a motor M.
