242,871. Strain, A. J., and Ritchie, Hart, & Co., Ltd. April 14, 1925. Rotary-tool implements; endless tracks, arrangements of; weights, arrangement of; manure, seed, and like distributors; rollers, land. - -A machine for making holes in grass land &c. for aerating, manuring, seed-sowing, and other purposes comprises a frame 6 mounted on a roller 5 and an endless belt 2 engaging the roller at the top and bottom and passing around supporting drums 3, 4 in front of and behind it, the belt having fixed projections or pins 1 thereon which enter and leave the ground in substantially vertical positions. The machine may be adapted for rolling and brushing the turf when the belt. is removed. The machine is provided with a pull or push handle 7 connected to the frame 6 bv a link 8. When the belt 2 is removed a brush or brushes may be mounted in bearings 9 at a lower level than the bearings of the drums 3, 4. The brushes are driven from the roller 5 by belt gearing. A removable box 12 may be provided to receive sand &c. for weighting the roller. Manure, light or heavy soil, &c. may be dropped into the holes made by the pins. Means may be provided for feeding manure &c. from the box 12 on to the belt 2.
