Abstract
A headband 1 for a football player that enhances the contact between the football player's head and the football when the player heads the ball. The headband allows the football to be headed with greater power and accuracy. The headband 1 may be made of rubber with a contoured and textured front 2 to provide extra grip in all weathers. The front of the headband may also be perforated 3 to allow the skin of the wearer to breathe. Preferably the back of the headband is split into two bands to allow flexibility and comfort for the wearer.

Description
High Cohesion Sports Headband.
The invention relates to a headband that can be worn on the sports playing field to enable a player to gain better purchase when heading a ball. Typically in soccer many goal scoring opportunities are missed because players cannot head the ball either accurately or with sufficient power because there is insufficient cohesion between their forehead and the ball.
This high cohesion head band is made of a material such as rubber which greatly enhances the contact that can be made when heading the ball.
This enables the player to gain greater power and accuracy in all weather conditions.
The enhanced grip will also allow the skilled player to spin the ball from directly from the head, this will provide a new capability to the game of soccer.
It also has safety benefits in that players who wear this headband are less likely to receive injuries typically caused by clashing of heads when two players go for the same ball because the material provides a level of cushioning.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in FIGURE 1.
The back of the headband (1) is split into two bands which allow flexibility and comfort to the wearer.
The front (2) is comprised of a textured surface to enable the wearer to gain more grip of the ball.
The front (3) has perforations to allow the wearer's skin to breathe. *2.
