Abstract

An in-car communication and entertainment system consists of a Bluetooth<RTM> enabled mobile phone that works in conjunction with a hands-free headset and MP3 hardware featuring a USB port for loading and storing music tracks by means of a USB flash memory stick or a laptop computer. Any entertainment function could be interrupted when a Bluetooth<RTM> enabled mobile phone call is detected and an option to route the call to speakers or the hands-free headset could be given. The MP3 hardware could allow a number of tracks to be stored, deleted or renamed on demand. The user could also create play-lists of their favourite tracks. A CD player and radio frequency tuner may also be included in the system.

In car communication and entertainment system.
This invention relates to an in car communication and entertainment system.
In car communication is a well known part of everyday life otherwise known as hands free mobile phone technology. They are usually in the form of a small speaker that fits onto the outside of a human ear and can be wireless or include a wire all types connect to a mobile phone in some way. In car entertainment systems are usually in the form of a standard size electronic device, which fits into a vehicles dashboard it, would normally incorporate a CD (compact disc) player and a radio frequency tuner.
Hands free kits and in car entertainment systems however remain separate. Some communication devices can be bulky and storage of CDs can take up valuable space.
According to the present invention there is provided an in car communication and entertainment system which consists of bluetooth enabled mobile phone enhancing hardware technology which works in conjunction with a hands free headset and MP3 enabled hardware which would be accessed via a USB port and would work in conjunction with USB flash memory share stick or laptop computer. The bluetooth part of the invention would feature a function, which would interrupt any entertainment functions that might be operating when a bluetooth enabled mobile phone call is detected. The option to root the call to speaker or headset would be given. Both receiving and outgoing calls would be given priority and calls would automatically be rooted to the headset if the system is turned off. Both the headset and the system would feature a microphone and functions which could answer or dial calls and a sound volume control. The MP3 part of the invention would feature a USB port which would be used for loading and storing MP3 music tracks/files to MP3 enabled hardware which could later be listened too through the in car speakers or browsed through via a visual display. There would be sufficient memory to store many tracks/files, which could also be deleted from the memory- or renamed on demand. The user could also create play lists of their favorite tracks/files, which could be played back on demand. Tracks/files would be added to the memory by means of a USB flash memory stick or laptop computer. Other essential features include a CD (compact disc) player with play, pause, stop, skip and search functions.
A radio frequency tuner with FM, AM, LW or digital reception capability which would also include an information update reception function.
Radio channels could be locked onto and stored for recall on demand. An audio adjustment function would include adjustable bass, treble speaker balance and volume control and feature manufacturer preset adjustments and user adjustable presets. All of this with exception to the headset and the USB flash memory stick would be integrated and could be fitted into the dashboard of a vehicle. Both the hands free headset and the USB memory flash stick would be unique to the system in terms of they could be supplied with it.
Preferably the system would be constructed from plastics and metals.

Claims (11)

1 An in car communication and entertainment system which includes bluetooth mobile phone enhancing hardware technology which could work in conjunction with a bluetooth hands free headset and MP3 enabled hardware which would be accessed via an integrated USB port and would work in conjunction with a USB flash memoiy share stick or laptop computer.
2 An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in claim 1 which includes a function that can detect and root mobile phone calls to either speaker using an integrated microphone or bluetooth hands free headset
3 An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 which has the ability to store recall rename and delete MP3 tracks/files for playback on demand.
4 An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in claim 2 or claim 3 which has the ability to create rename and delete playlists in which tracks/files can be compiled and recalled for playback on demand.
An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in claim 4 which has a visual display for viewing or browsing the selected function or track/file.
6 An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in any preceding claim which has an integrated CD (compact disc) player.
7 An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in any preceding claim which has an integrated FM AM LW and digital radio tuner function that is provided with an information update function.
8 An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in claim 7 which can lock onto and store radio channels for recall on demand.
9 An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in any preceding claim which has user adjustable audio function which is provided with preset and settable adjustments.
An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in any preceding claim that that is integrated and can be fitted into the dashboard of a vehicle.
11 An in car communication and entertainment system as claimed in any preceding claim that is provided with a bluetooth hands free headset and USB memory flash stick.
