THE ULTIMATE BEACH BAG
This invention relates to an outdoor storage utility accessory.
Windbreaks are renown for their bulky design and yet are an important accessory to enjoy a relaxing day in the country or on the coast. Combined with other essential items a trip to the beach can be cumbersome and bring. In order for a windbreak to achieve its purpose the design and manufacture can be lighter and more durable and if adapted it may be transported with greater ease.
The present invention enables essential equipment to be easily transported to the chosen location and incorporates storage facilities and accessories designed to reduce stress and increase enjoyment on a day out. It combines all of these features in one single bag thereby preventing the need to cany separate items.
Referring to the drawings the unit takes the form of an upright Octagonal bag similar in size and design to a golfbag. The unit shown in fig 3 is divided into three distinct storage facilities. The first I and largest is at the top providing storage for items such as swimwear, towels or food The second and smallest located in the middle of the unit 2 is a security box, which may be locked either by key or combination digit. The third at the bottom of the unit 3 is a fridge/cooler enabling food and drink items to be kept fresh. Depending on the model this may be powered either in the conventional way by the use of freezer packs or by an alternative source of power such as solar.
The bag shown in fig 2 will also have built in a clock radio 4, a thermometer S and external supports to hold and allow the dispensing of sun cream 6. Depending on the model it may also have additional optional features such as a display unit 7 with satellite navigation technology enabling parents to keep track of wandering children, mini TV and or cd/dvd facility.
At each side to the rear ofthe bag shown in fig 1 on a roller system will be extendable windbreaks 8 comprising thin and penetrable metal posts 9 divided and separated by lightweight protective material. At each end there will be further extendable material providing an optional shaded area or shelter. Also at the rear of the bag will be a tubular storage facility I I shown in fig 5 to house an extendable parasol.
A specific embodiment ofthe invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure I shows in perspective the bag with extendable windbreak and handle Figure 2 shows a front view of the bag Figure 3 illustrates the bag in cross-section Figure 4 shows the two arrangements of the optional shelter facility Figure 5 shows a plan view of the bag Figure 6 shows a rear view ofthe ban The bag is transported by extending the handle 12 shown in figure I and biting it forward onto the wheels 13. Alternatively and if the ground does not allow it the bag may be carried by clipping the shoulder strap to the attachments 14.
The extendable windbreak facility is secured by pushing the metal posts 9 into the ground. On release the windbreak will immediately by recoiled to its original position at the rear ofthe bag and housed in a tubular protective casing 15 or it may be recoiled manually. The extendable shelter may be secured by using one of the two detachable metal posts 16 shown clearly in fig 6. These posts attached to the rear of the bag may be used independently of the windbreak to secure the bag in it upright position by inserting them into the ground.
Claims (10)
1. A mulb-pupose upright beach bag on a detachable wheels comprising refrigeration, security and other storage sections with additional features including clock radio, child satellite navigation, thermometer, mini TV, CD andlor DVD, parasol and sun cream dispenser with extendable windbreak and shelter facility to each side of the central bag unit.
2. A mulb-puose uptight bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein means are provided by detachable wheels and extendable handle to facilitate easy transportation as an alternative to carrying by strap.
3. A multi-pupose upright beach bag wherein the upright unit incorporates a hinged refrigeration compartment, which may be cooled by battery or solar energy.
4. A multi-purpose upright beach bag wherein the unit incorporates a hinged security box capable of being locked by key or security code.
5. A multi-purpose upright beach bag wherein the storage bag becomes the central unit allowing windbreaks comprising lightweight metal posts separated by protective cloth to be extended outwards to each side and secured by inserting thin metal posts into the ground. s
6. A multi-purpose upright beach bag wherein the extendable windbreak as claimed in 1 and S on release are recoiled to the central unit either manually or by a spring-loaded pulley.
7. A multi-purpose upright beach bag wherein the bag may be secured in its upright position when the extendable windbreaks as claimed in claim I and 5 are not in use by inserting the separate detachable metal posts held at the rear ofthe bag into the ground.
8. A multi-purpose upright beach bag wherein the extendable windbrealc/s as claimed in claim I and 5 and separate detachable metal posts as claimed in claim 7 may be used to support the additional protective material to form shelter.
