Abstract

An improvement to a concrete/cement mixer using a hose nozzle coupled to a tap or cock and fitted to a stationary or static part of the mixer such that the addition of water can be carried out by the same operator who carries out the loading of the ingredients into the mixing drum. No other operator is required to add the water into the drum.

Improvements in the design of Concrete and Cement mixing machines.
================================================== This invention relates to an improvement in the design of concrete and cement mixing machines.
These mixers have a rotatable drum into which various materials such as cement, sand aggregate are charged together with a quantity of water.
The amount of water will determine the quality and other poperties of the fmal mix.
This water is usually added by means of a hose pipe or bucket by one opereator whilst another operator loads the machine.
This invention consists of an assembly comprising a quick acting tap or cock coupled to a hose end and affixed Lo a non moving part of the machine. Water is supplied by means of a hose assembly to the tap or cock and water is sprayed into the drum.
The loading operator can easily perform both functions and no other operator will be required.
The loading operator can easily control the taps or cocks in between loading the mixer drum.

Claims (1)

  1. Claims.
    A charging assembly as described, comprising a hose end assembled to a quick acting tap or cock and fitted to a fixed part of the mixer can be readily operated by one man in addition to his loading functions.
    The hose end and tap assembly will direct or spray the required water directly into the mixing drum and can be controlled by the loading operator to ensure the correct amounts of water and other materials are mixed.
    Using an assembly as described, only one operator will be required as both the loading and water addition can be carried by the same person.
