Abstract
241,648. Worthington, O. C. Aug. 8, 1924. Vehicle lamps.-An inclined screen 10 is disposed on the side of the axis of the light beam and forwardly of the source of illumination so as to intercept rays directed to that side, and the reflected glare rays directed to the same side are dimmed or suppressed by means of a second screen 11 disposed between the light source and the reflector 16, or by dimming, covering, or cutting away part of the reflector. The screns may be made of opal glass, fabric, or other translucent or opaque material, and may be made reflecting. In one form, the screens 10, 11 are secured by means of set screws 13 in metal rims 12 secured to a metal bridge piece 14 carrying a spring clip or a clamp for embracing the neck of an electric-lamp bulb. The screen 11 may be sector-shaped, and the rim of the screen 10 mav be secured to the bridgepiece of an adjustable telescopic connection.
