Abstract

A small transmitter which is easily installed on the vehicle's wheel, which continually monitors the tyre pressure. If the tyre pressure drops a signal is sent to a receiver located within the vehicle. The driver or operator is alerted of the drop in pressure by way of an audiovisual alarm. Once the tyre is repaired or re-inflated the system can be reset by way of the reset button. While the vehicle is stationary, this same button can be used to check that the tyres are up to the required pressure.

TYRE DEFLATION MONITOR
This is to make the driver aware of a drop in pressure of any tyre on their vehicle, while the vehicle is moving.
There are two main parts to this tyre deflation monitor: the receiver and the transmitter.
The transmitter is fitted to the wheel and is powered by a small battery.
The receiver is located within the vehicle and comprises of a receiver circuit, a buzzer to give an audible warning and an LED to give a visual warning if a drop in pressure is detected. This is powered by the vehicle's 12v system.
There is no limit within reason to how many wheels on the vehicle this is fitted to. A spare tyre may also be monitored.
Other tyre pressure monitors are available but need specialist fitting or can only be supplied when the car is new. My invention can be fitted by anyone with basic mechanical knowledge.
According to the present invention there is provided a tyre deflation monitor comprising of a remote transmitter fitted to each wheel, which will send a signal to a receiver located within the vehicle when the tyre pressure drops.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1 shows the transmitter.
FIGURE 2 shows the transmitter fitted to a vehicle wheel.
FIGURE 3 shows the receiver.

  1. A remote transmitter fitted to each wheel, which will send a signal to a receiver located within the vehicle when the tyre pressure drops.
