Abstract

240,777. Loewe, B. May 2, 1924. Connecting and disconnecting arrangements; belt gearing. -Relates to means for driving a number of similar devices such as spindles or the like of the kind wherein each device is pivotally mounted on a frame or casing and is normally maintained in contact with an endless belt, and is applicable, in particular, for driving the spinning-devices described in Specification 239,255. The endless belt e is pressed against each device a, which is mounted in a pivoted bearing bracket b, by spring-actuated levers h, so that any device may be stopped independently of the others by moving either the lever h or the bracket away from the belt. The mounting of a spinning-device in this manner permits the thread being drawn through from one end to the other.
