Abstract
A mouse trap includes a hollow barrel 1 having two open ends. The barrel has two raised inner walls 11 at the two open ends and an adhesive surface 2 applied on the interior wall of the barrel 1 between the two raised inner walls 11. The inner diameter of each raised inner wall 11 is smaller than the inner diameter of the adhesive surface 2. Bait 3 may be placed on the adhesive surface 2 to attract a mouse, which becomes stuck to the adhesive surface 2 by its feet or body.
Description
TITLE: MOUSE TRAP
Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a mouse trap, and more particularly to a hollow barrel with a pair of raised inner walls at two open ends and an adhesive surface apphed on the interior wall between the two raised inner walls
Background of the Invention
There are various types of mouse trap, such as U S. Patent Nos 3,398,478 4,244,134 4,908,976. All of these patents are in a hollow barrel shape with glue applied to the inner wall. Patent No.3,398,478 is in a tube shape having a straight pathway, and adhesive bands are attached on the inner wall. A mouse can walk into the tube and eat the bait freely, but when they turn back, the adhesive shall hold their body. However, this design Is appropriate only to those mice with a size big enough to squeeze into the tube, further, most of the time, the mice runaway with only part of their hair stuck to the adhesive Patent No.4,244, 134 is a disposable pest trap, which teaches three embodiments All embodiments are in a barrel shape with adhesive material apphed on the inner center position. These designs have higher costs and are hard to maintain in shape. These designs have larger space, a trapped mouse can still runaway.
Patent No.4,908,976 Is also a barrel shape with adhesive attached on the inner wall, with pillars thereon to prevent the barrel from rolhng. However, the adhesive Is applied along the inner wall axially, when a mouse steps into the barrel, Immediate they find the adhesive and will try to runaway, therefore, the result is not as expected as they should be In view of these, the inventor has derived the present invention to improve the above shortcomings.
Summary of the Invention
It is the primary object of the present invention to provide a mouse trap, which can prevent extra adhesive from dripping out of the barrel and will be blocked by the raised inner walls.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a mouse trap, which can grasp a mouse firmly.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a mouse trap, which is inexpensive to manufacture.
Brief Description of the Drawings
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention, partially sectioned, and l 0 FIG. 2 is a side cross sectional view, depicting a mouse being trapped m the barrel
Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiment
A mouse trap of the present invention, as shown in FIG 1, comprises a barrel (1) made of paper. The barrel (1) has a hollow tunnel, which is designed according to the habit of mouse to run around dark and humid tunnel. The barrel (1) includes two raised inner walls (11) at two open ends and an adhesive surface (2) applied on the interior wall of the barrel (1) between the two raised inner walls (11) The inner diameter of each raised inner wall (1 1) is smaller than that of the adhesive surface (2) This is to prevent extra adhesive from dripping out of the barrel (1) and will be blocked by the raised inner walls ( 1 1).
As shown in FIG. 2, the barrel (1) comprises the adhesive surface (2) on the interior wall at the central portion and the two raised inner walls ( I 1) at the two open ends from adhesive The adhesive surface (2) has a length of one third (1/3) or half of the entire length of the barrel (1). The size is able to adhere a mouse body In order to lure a mouse (4), a bait (3) is placed on the adhesive surface (2) When a mouse Is attracted by the bait (3) and walks into the barrel (1) through either of the raised inner walls ( I I), the two front feet of the mouse (4) will be stuck by the adhesive surface (2) This causes panic of the mouse (4) and will try to turn back, whereas its body will also be stuck to the adhesive surface (2), too The more struggle, the more body will be stuck with the adhesive surface (2), until the entire body sticks to the adhesive surface (2), thus, the mouse (4) is trapped in the trap.
Claims (1)
- I CLAIM: 1. A mouse trap comprising a barrel with two open ends, saidbarrel having two raised inner walls at the two open ends, an adhesive surface being applied on an interior wall of said barrel between said two raised inner walls, an inner diameter of each raised inner wall being smaller than an inner diameter of said adhesive surface
